Getting Things In Order

Princess Kitty has had another busy day. She has been having a good clean and tidy up at The Cardigan. She is pleased. Everywhere looks spic and span.

Growly Bear has been tidying up this weekend too. He has been sorting out his spare room. It was full of all sorts of things. He wonders about where it has all come from. He thinks about the clutter we accumulate. He thinks about how material things come and go. He think about what is really important in life. He thinks the most important thing are love and kindness.

Princess Kitty agrees with Growly Bear. She has moved from a big house with all the creature comforts to her her new little home. It is not a comfy as her big house but she is much happier there. She feels she can be the person she is there. She does not mind that The Cardigan in not perfect. It is perfect for her at the moment.

Sweet Freedom

Princess Kitty has been to see another band tonight. This time it was a band that has her friend Rupert Bear in.

Princess Kitty likes Rupert Bear. They were slaves together in Fatty Flatfoot's empire. They were both her lieutenants. Fatty Flatfoot treated Rupert Bear badly. Fatty Flatfoot treats everyone badly eventually, but especially guinea pigs and her lieutenants.

Princess Kitty noticed how much better Rupert Bear looks now that he is free from Fatty Flatfoot's slavery. She wishes she could free all the other slaves. She wishes she could gather together all the former slaves and invade her empire and set everyone free. Maybe one day.

Growly Bear has had a musical night too. He has been to a party. He has been listening to music. He has been playing his guitar and singing.

Growly Bear rang Princess Kitty up from his party as she was driving home in her little Yaris. Princess Kitty noticed that he did not quite sound his usual self. He had the giggles. Princess Kitty wondered if he had been trying special herbs again.

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear both like special herbs. They like to have them on special occasions, like parties and when they are making honey sometimes. They like the way it helps them feel relaxed and free.

Princess Kitty thinks freedom is one of the best feelings in the world.

Shake Rattle Rock and Roll

Princess Kitty has been out with her friends tonight. They went to see a band. The band was very good. Princess Kitty has got sore paws from dancing so much. She has got a sore throat from singing so much.

The band had lots of instuments. Princess Kitty paid special attention to the guitarists. They were both very good. Princess Kitty dreamed she was up there with them. One of the band had a tambourine. The tambourine was like the one that Princess Kitty bought for Poppy the Flower Fairy.

Poppy the Flower Fairy is Princess Kitty's friend. Princess Kitty and Poppy have lots of fun together. They listen to music together. They giggle a lot together. They tell each other their secrets. Poppy has got two guinea pigs. Princess Kitty teases her about this. Poppy says she knows the point of guinea pigs but she had never told Princess Kitty what this is. Princess Kitty thinks it is probably alright to tease Poppy. It is not like teasing bears, which everyone knows is bad.

Poppy likes her tambourine. It is a black one. Princess Kitty chose it carefully. There were lots of different colours. Princess Kitty liked the purple one best. But she knew Poppy would like the black one so that is what she bought her. And she did.

Princess Kitty says Poppy can be in her band when she is famous. She can shake and rattle her tambourine. Poppy thinks that would be rock and roll.

Missing

Growly Bear has been to visit Princess Kitty. They have not seen each other for a few days. They have missed each other. They have missed each other very much indeed.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have had a lovely evening. They have played and sung. They have had a nice meal. They have made some honey. Some spectacular honey.

Growly Bear has gone away again now though. He has to go back to his cave. Princess Kitty feels sad. She is missing him again already. She knows that Growly Bear misses her too.

Princess Kitty remembers the time she looked after a guinea pig for a friend. Her friend was going on holiday. Princess Kitty had never looked after a guinea pig before. She had never had one of her own. She could not see the point. Her friend's guinea pig got lost. Princess Kitty could not find it anywhere. She got very worried. Eventually though the guinea pig came back on its own. Princess Kitty realised it had not been lost at all really. It had just been on an adventure. It had just been living its life for a little while without her.

Princess Kitty thinks that this is like Growly Bear. Although she misses Growly Bear he is not really lost. He is living his life.

Growing Up

Princess Kitty has been in a difficult place this week. She has been starting the think more about the future. She knows she needs to start thinking about finding a new little home. A home that won't be borrowed like The Cardigan. A house that will be hers.

Princess Kitty realised this at the weekend but she felt a bit stuck about how to take the first step. She hasn't really talked to Growly Bear about this. She knows it is important that she does this independently. It is part of growing up.

Princess Kitty knows that she is growing up. She knows that as she grows up she will understand more about the point of guinea pigs. She knows that sometimes growing up is hard and painful. She knows herself well enough to know how she will react to this. First she gets scared. Then she reassures heself that it will be OK and that she will feel better soon and she will be able to work out what to do next.

Princess Kitty knows growing up means learning to depend on yourself. To do that you have to trust yourself and love yourself. Growly Bear has helped Princess Kitty learn how to love herself. Princess Kitty hopes Growly Bear loves himself more too. She also knows growing up means staying a child too. It means loving and laughing and crying and playing.

Because Princess Kitty has been thinking this week she is worried that she has not been giving Growly Bear the attention he deserves. She is seeing Growly Bear tomorrow. She is very excited. She is going to give him lots of attention.

Loving Growly Bear is the best part of growing up.

Forbidden Love

Princess Kitty has been to a meeting today. It was a meeting about boy bears that love other boy bears and girl cats that love other girl cats. Princess Kitty found it very interesting and thought provoking.

They talked about how people can be unkind or thoughtless. They talked about how people judge them. Princess Kitty thinks about guinea pigs. They come in all sorts of sizes and colours. At the end of the day though they are all guinea pigs. They all need love and warmth and care.

Princess Kitty thinks again about these special bears and cats. She knows what it is like to love someone against the rules. She knows what it is like to have to keep her love a secret. She understands that it is difficult. You have to be brave. Very brave indeed.

Life And Death

Growly Bear has had an accident. An accident in his little Skoda. Poor Growly Bear. A big tree fell down into the road because it was very windy. Growly Bear was taken by surprise. He did not see it coming. He crashed into it.

Growly Bear is not hurt. He was frightened at the time though. His little Skoda is all dented and scratched. Poor Growly Bear.

Princess Kitty was shocked when Growly Bear told her about his accident. She is happy that Growly Bear is alright. It makes her think about life though. It makes her think about how we never know what is around the corner. It makes her think that every day could be the last and how important it is to live every moment to the full. It reminds Princess Kitty of a song by Tim McGraw called "Live Like You Were Dying".

Princess Kitty reflects that we are all dying. She knows it is the only thing in life that is certain. Not like the point of guinea pigs - there is nothing certain about that at all.

Princess Kitty decides not to think any more about death. She decides to think instead about how nice it is to be alive. How nice it is to have someone special to love like Growly Bear. How important he is to her. As important as life and death.

Sixth Sense

Growly Bear is telepathic. Growly Bear can sense Princess Kitty next to him even when she is not there. He can imagine her milky smell. He can hear her sweet voice. He remembers the feel of her soft fur. He can taste her delicious kisses. He can see her sweet little nose and cute whiskers.

Princess Kitty can sense Growly Bear next to her too. She can smell his Growly Bear smell. She can hear his warm gentle voice. She can imagine the feel of his furry body. She can taste the lovely honey he makes. She can see his round little tummy and furry face.

Animals are supposed to have a sixth sense. Princess Kitty wonders if guinea pigs have a sixth sense. She thinks the cleverest guinea pigs probably do.

There's No Place Like Home

Growly Bear stayed at The Cardigan last night. This morning Growly Bear and Princess Kitty talked. They talked about homes.

Princess Kitty thinks a home is the place where you feel safe. She thinks it is a place where you feel relaxed and can be yourself. She thinks this might not be a building. She thinks it is the place where love is.

Growly Bear thinks a home is a place which is cosy and snug. He thinks it should have lots of creature comforts.

Growly Bear has had lots of homes. The Cardigan is the first home Princess Kitty has had of her own. She is only borrowing it though. One day she hopes to have a home of her own. There will be lots of love in her home. She will have lots of creature comforts so that Growly Bear will be happy there too.

Princess Kitty thinks about guinea pigs. They like to have snug little homes. They like to live with other guinea pigs so that they are not lonely. Princess Kitty decides that guinea pigs understand the point of homes.

Growly Bear has gone back to his home now - his cave. Princess Kitty looks around The Cardigan. Even though she likes her little home, it always feels nicer when Growly Bear is in it.

A Matching Pair

Growly Bear has been at The Cardigan tonight. Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have had a lovely evening. Sometimes they manage to feel very in tune with each other. Tonight was one of those nights. One of those nights when everything comes together. One of those times when they feel very connected to each other.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been playing their guitars. The played very well together. Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been singing. They sang very well together. Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been chatting. They understand each other very well. Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been making honey. Delicious!

They have been talking about the importance of looking at life in different ways. They have been talking about how different people see things in different ways. They have been talking about how the point of guinea pigs is different for everyone.

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear are very different. They are different to each other and they are unique individuals. They are also connected at a very deep level, as if they are completed by each other. Like a pair of antique dolls, their value together is more than each individually. They are truly little treasures.
