Dusters At Dawn

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have been working hard again.

Growly Bear is feeling stiff. He doesn't think he is a bear who should be lifting heavy things. He thinks he is a bear who should be able to schmooze. But he doesn't really mind. He likes to help Princess Kitty.

Princess Kitty is a bit stiff too. She is thinking about how much work she has to do. Her new home is not very clean. All her things are in boxes. She has a busy few days ahead of her.

Growly Bear has gone back to his cave now for the weekend. He felt sad to leave Princess Kitty. He wondered if she would be alright on her own in her new little home. And he has promised to talk to Princess Kitty about the point of guinea pigs next time they meet. He will need to think about what he is going to say.

In the meantime Princess Kitty is getting read to start work. She is getting her dusters ready. She wants to surprise Growly Bear when he comes to visit next time. She hopes Growly Bear will say "Goodness Princess Kitty. Your home is spic and span. Just the ticket".

Rabbit Out Of The Hat

When Princess Kitty saw her friend Chuckles yesterday she sang to him and played her guitar. He said she had got much better. He said the next thing to work on is her performance.

Princess Kitty closes her eyes when she is concentrating hard and performing. It helps her feel safer. She know that Chuckles is right though. She knows she needs to look at her audience and let them look at her. And see them looking at her. Princess Kitty feels a bit scared.

Growly Bear thinks Princess Kitty is getting better too. He thinks she should not worry too much about getting her performance right. He thinks she will pull a rabbit out of the hat when she needs to. He wonders if that should be a guinea pig.

Princess Kitty knows there needs to be a rabbit in the hat to start with. She wonders where she is going to get one from.

Just The Ticket

Growly Bear has been using another funny expression. Just the ticket.

He says it when he finds what he is looking for. He says it if Princess Kitty does something he likes. He says it if he suddenly catches a glimpse of the point of guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty would say "That's wicked" or "Rocking". Growly Bear says "Just the ticket".

Princess Kitty has heard another funny saying with ticket in. "He's not quite the ticket". She has never heard Growly Bear say this though.

Princess Kitty wonders where Growly Bear gets his expressions from. She wonders if he knows a secret site on the Internet with all the funny expressions in the world.

She knows what Growly Bear would say if he found such a site. He would say "Just the ticket".

Schmoozy Bear

Growly Bear thinks he is a pretty cool dresser.

Mostly Growly Bear wears black clothes. He wears sexy little black pants with a sparkly heart on the back. He wears a little black vest. He wear black trousers and a black shirt. And he wears little black flip flops. Even in the winter. Sometimes he even wears a black ribbon although his ribbon is usually red.

Growly Bear says it is important to be comfortable. He says it is important to feel schmoozy. When he is staying at The Cardigan he has a special schmoozing outfit. He wears a little black kaftan. Growly Bear says this is a very cool and schmoozy thing to do.

Princess Kitty likes it when Growly Bear wears his kaftan. She likes the way it comes over his little round tummy. She likes it that there are slits under the arms where she can poke her paws in to stroke Growly Bear.

Growly Bear loves being stroked and fussed. He likes being stroked gently. He likes being scratched. He likes being rubbed. Maybe being stroked is the point of guinea pigs.

Growly Bear can be schmoozy at any time of day. He can be schmoozy when he first wakes up in the morning. He can be schmoozy all morning if he doesn't have to go to work. He can be schmoozy in the afternoon watching football or playing music. And he can be schmoozy in the evenings, especially when he is with Princess Kitty.

That is one schmoozy little bear.

Change Or Die

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been on an outing. They went off in Growly Bear's little Skoda. They went to see a skateboard museum.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty found the museum very interesting. There were lots of old skateboards and they had been made to look very beautiful. Princess Kitty was especially interested because her grandma used to ride a Triumph skateboard in the 1920s. Princess Kitty knows that it was unusual for a girl cat to ride skateboards in those days. She thinks her Grandma was rock and roll.

Growly Bear liked the old skateboards because he thinks they are sociologically important. They made him think about how important it is to change with the world around you if you are to survive. He thinks this is probably important when it comes to guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty told Growly Bear a story about this. She told him about a frog who jumped into boiling water and jumped right back out again and so was safe. She told him about another frog who was comfy in some cold water and did not notice when it gradually got hotter until eventually he died.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty had some lunch when they had finished at the skateboard museum. Princess Kitty had aubergine stuffed with ratatouille and goats cheese. Growly Bear had faggots, mash and mushy peas.

Princess Kitty told Growly Bear that she had had a lovely day with him. She told him that she loves him and would go anywhere with him. Growly Bear said "Bless your heart".

Eggs Are Eggs

Growly Bear is the best thing since sliced bread. Princess Kitty is sure of it. As sure as eggs are eggs.

They text each other this morning. They text messages of love. Then they talked for a few minutes. Then they worked hard all day.

They talked again when Growly Bear was driving home. He used his little handsfree with his little Nokia. They talked about how much closer they are getting to understanding the point of guinea pigs. Growly Bear told Princess Kitty about what he had in his heart. Princess Kitty was very touched. Very touched indeed. It is wonderful to be loved so much.

Sorted!

Growly Bear has had a frustrating day. He has bought a new computer. His old one was clockwork and not going very well. He is going on Broadband!

Growly Bear rang someone to arrange to have Broadband. He was on the phone for a long time. He talked to lots of people. He talked to people from all over the world. But no one seemed able to help him.

Usually Growly Bear likes talking to lots of different people. But today he did not. Today he just wanted to get things sorted out. Growl!

Princess Kitty listened to Growly Bear's troubles when he rang her. She understands how frustrating Growly Bear has found his day. She knows that like her Growly Bear likes to have things sorted out. That's why searching for the point of guinea pigs is hard. It never gets sorted.

Princess Kitty told Growly Bear to never mind and that he would have things sorted out soon. Meantime she will just keep loving him. Growly Bear said "Silly sausage".

No-One Died

No-one died Princess Kitty. That is what Princess Kitty's daddy used to say to her when she was a kitten. If she was worrying about something that happened during the day he would say "No-one died". If she was worrying about something that might happen he would say "It won't kill you".

Princess Kitty has remembered these words. She remembers them and uses them. She uses them when she is thinking about taking a risk. It helps her judge if a risk is worth taking.

Princess Kitty thinks her daddy is quite wise. She thinks she might have underestimated him. She has been asking him to tell her stories, to share his knowledge. When she told some friends they said it was really good and important. They said it is important to do it before it is too late because he won't be around for ever.

Princess Kitty thinks her friends are right. She thinks they are wise too. She thinks it is good to listen to advice sometimes. She thinks it is good to listen to people who know about guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty wonders what advice she can give Growly Bear. She thinks and thinks. She scratches her head. Then she knows. She would say "Imagine being on the other side. Imagine yourself saying no-one died".

Shooting Fish In A Barrel

Growly Bear has been teasing Princess Kitty. He has been teasing her a lot. He has been teasing her about forgetting things. He has been teasing her about getting mad when her fur is not perfect. He has been teasing her about the way she cooks. He has been teasing her by pretending he is not sure if he wants to make honey. He has been teasing her because she sometimes simply cannot see the point of guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty wonders how Growly Bear can find so many things to tease her about. Growly Bear says it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

A Bad Word

Growly Bear has had a day of slavery. A day of slavery serving the Fatty Flatfoot empire. Poor Growly Bear. He texted Princess Kitty to tell her about it when she asked what he was doing. His text said "Trying to penetrate the depths of IT bullshit my job now entails. Oh ... and supporting the whole of the empire .... learning to play the flute and ridding the world of all known diseases".

Poor Growly Bear thought Princess Kitty. No wonder he doesn't have time to think about guinea pigs. He must be upset to use a bad word. Usually he just says 'heavens' as his worst word.

Princess Kitty has spent the day at work. She is very important so she has been doing important things. She has been reading important papers. She has been sending important emails. She has been using her little dictaphone.

Princess Kitty thinks about poor Growly Bear. Life is hard for him sometimes. He has a lot on his plate as her mummy would say.

Lucky for Growly Bear he has Princess Kitty to love him.

Super Duper Day

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have had a super duper day. That is Growly Bear's new word for when something is nice. Princess Kitty giggled into her paw when he first said it. She thinks it is one of the funniest thing he has ever said. Silly Growly Bear.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty shared presents. Then they made some special Christmas honey. Princess Kitty really got stuck in. Growly Bear says you can't make good honey without getting your paws dirty. Princess Kitty agrees. She is getting to like that nice sticky feeling.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty talked a lot today too. They talked about their love. They talked about music. They even talked a bit about the point of guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty bought Growly Bear a Beano annual. Growly Bear likes the Beano. He especially likes the Bash Street Kids. He likes reading about all those rough boys fighting. He thinks the Beano is super duper.

A Ray Of Sunshine

Princess Kitty's girl kitten has been to visit tonight. Princess Kitty loves her girl kitten. She is so full of life. Growly Bear would say that she is "full of vim and vigour". She does not really understand the point of guinea pigs yet but Princess Kitty knows that she is magic.

Princess Kitty and her girl kitten have been playing guitars together. Princess Kitty gave her old guitar to her girl kitten. She was very pleased. Princess Kitty taught her some chords. She taught her to play a song. She taught her to play "You Are My Sunshine".

Princess Kitty thinks her girl kitten is her little ray of sunshine. She loves her very much. She drinks a little toast to her clever daughter.

Knickers In A Twist

Growly Bear has been doing his chores. He has been doing some cleaning and sorting out the washing. He is quite clever. He knows how to work the washing machine all by himself.

He has also been saying some more of his funny words. Today's word was 'jolly' to mean 'very'. He made Princess Kitty giggle when he said it.

This evening Growly Bear has been working. He has been helping some bears that have been in trouble to change their behaviour. He tries to help them understand a little more about guinea pigs. He is very good at this.

Princess Kitty has been busy too. She has had a busy day at work today and then another meeting this evening. The meeting was a bit frustrating. The person in charge was a bit weak and so the meeting went on a long time without much getting done. Princess Kitty finds she gets a bit cross when this happens. She tries to be helpful though. She knows that this is something she needs to be careful about as she can be grumpy when this happens.

Sometimes Princess Kitty gets a bit grumpy with Growly Bear. He is always very patient and understanding when she is. Princess Kitty thinks this is kind of him.

Growly Bear is sometimes grumpy with Princess Kitty. Princess Kitty can be naughty when Growly Bear is bit irritable. Sometimes she teases him. Everyone knows that teasing bears is bad. Naughty Princess Kitty.

Love and Laughter

Princess Kitty is a little tired tonight. She has been out running . She has been feeling much better today though - full of "vim and vigour" as Growly Bear would say. Growly Bear has lots of funny expressions like this. Princess Kitty often giggles to herself about them. Other things he says are "goodness" and "gosh" as well as "by a country mile", "silly sausage" and "O Lady". Princess Kitty thinks these expressions are especially funny because Growly Bear is usually so rock and roll.

Growly Bear thinks Princess Kitty talks in a funny way too. Sometimes he teases her about it. Princess Kitty likes it when Growly Bear teases her. He makes her laugh. Princess Kitty likes laughing. It makes her feel nice inside. She loves laughing with Growly Bear. She thinks it is sad that guinea pigs can't laugh. She thinks it is one of the best things about being alive. She decides she is going to try to laugh every day from now on. She wonders how she might do this. "I know" she thinks "I will play some tricks on Growly Bear". She is smiling already.
