Psycho Bear

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been to Ikea.

Growly Bear has bought Princess Kitty lots of things for her new home. Glasses and lamps. Throws and snuggle blankets. Light bulbs and tables.

Princess Kitty's favourite things are an orange washing up brush and a lampshade with pretty beads.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty like shopping together. Growly Bear likes watching what Princess Kitty chooses. It helps them understand the point of guinea pigs.

Sometimes Growly Bear really likes the things Princess Kitty chooses. Sometimes he is not sure. And sometimes he is horrified.

Growly Bear says when Princess Kitty chooses something he doesn't like he hears a noise in his head like the Psycho film. A sort of screeching noise. Princess Kitty wonders if Growly Bear should see a doctor.

How To Make Sweet Honey

Growly Bear has been at work today. He has been teaching bad bears how to be better. He has been teaching them about the point of guinea pigs.

He talked to the bad bears about making honey. He explained how important it is to have good ingredients. He told them that honey made in the wrong way always tastes sour.

Talking to the bad bears made Growly Bear think about how he and Princess Kitty make honey together. It made him realise how special they honey they make is. The best he has ever made.

Princess Kitty likes making honey with Growly Bear too. She likes the sweet taste. She loves their secret recipes that no-one else knows about. And she knows that what makes their honey so special is magic.

Whose Turn To Choose?

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have done lots of things today.

First Princess Kitty made Growly Bear a cup of tea in bed. Then Princess Kitty had to go to the doctors. She has a little lump on her leg. The doctor gave her some cream to rub into it to make it better.

Then Princess Kitty and Growly Bear went shopping. Princess Kitty said she would buy Growly Bear lunch and he could choose where they would eat.

In her head Princess Kitty hoped Growly Bear would choose her favourite cafe. It sells nice salads and delicious puddings. Princess Kitty thinks the point of guinea pigs might be found in such a place.

But Growly Bear chose somewhere different. He found a cafe which sold tea in mugs and where all the food came with chips. Growly Bear was very excited. It was just the sort of place he likes to eat.

Princess Kitty looked around carefully. She hoped nobody that she knows would see her. She hoped her mummy would never find out she had eaten in such a place.

Growly Bear ate all his food up. He said it was delicious. He promised to bring Princess Kitty again.

Princess Kitty smiled and said thank you. Inside her head she decided it would be her turn to choose next time.

Surprises

Princess Kitty has been working hard cleaning up her new little house again today. She has cleaned the bathroom. She has vacuumed the carpets. She has emptied all the boxes.

Growly Bear is staying at Princess Kitty's new home again for a few days. When he arrived he was very surprised at all Princess Kitty had done. Very surprised indeed.

He went into every room. He looked in all the cupboards. He saw how clean the bathroom is now. He saw how sparkling the kitchen has become. He says Princess Kitty is making it into a lovely new home. He says it is part of the point of guinea pigs.

And Growly Bear had a surprise for Princess Kitty too. A microwave that can grill and bake. It is very shiny. Princess Kitty thinks it will look fine in her new kitchen. Very fine indeed.

Fusspot Bear

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have both been visiting people today.

Princess Kitty visited her step girl kitten and grandkittens. Her little boy grandkitten made her laugh. Her little girl grandkitten was sweet. Princess Kitty gave her lots of cuddles.

Growly Bear has been visiting the sister of the bear that he lives with. He likes the sister and her partner and their children. But he does not like the food they serve.

Growly Bear is quite fussy about food. Princess Kitty finds it difficult to work out sometimes.

For example, he insists on buying the finest ingredients when he is cooking. The juiciest, tastiest tomatoes. The softest avocados. The best watercress. But when he goes out to eat he likes nothing better than to have sausage egg and chips in a cafe.

Princess Kitty wonders if guinea pigs are so fussy. Growly Bear says he is sure they know what they like and only eat that. Princess Kitty thinks she might find out.

Scour, Scrape And Scrub

Princess Kitty has been cleaning. She has been cleaning her new kitchen.

She has scoured and scraped. She has washed walls and ceilings. She has scrubbed floors. She has polished tiles.

At the end of the day she looks around. Her new kitchen is gleaming.

She thinks Growly Bear is going to like cooking in this kitchen. She thinks he is going to be surprised when he sees how clean and shiny she has made it.

And Princess Kitty has another surprise for Growly Bear. She is going to have a lodger.

Daisy is coming to live with Princess Kitty. Daisy is a Cat. Daisy used to live with Princess Kitty at her big house. And now she is going to live with her in her new home.

Growly Bear was very excited when Princess Kitty told him about Daisy. Growly Bear likes Cats. And Cats like Growly Bear. Like guinea pigs they bring fun and love into a home.

Princess Kitty is going to work hard to make her new home just right for when Daisy arrives.

Dusters At Dawn

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have been working hard again.

Growly Bear is feeling stiff. He doesn't think he is a bear who should be lifting heavy things. He thinks he is a bear who should be able to schmooze. But he doesn't really mind. He likes to help Princess Kitty.

Princess Kitty is a bit stiff too. She is thinking about how much work she has to do. Her new home is not very clean. All her things are in boxes. She has a busy few days ahead of her.

Growly Bear has gone back to his cave now for the weekend. He felt sad to leave Princess Kitty. He wondered if she would be alright on her own in her new little home. And he has promised to talk to Princess Kitty about the point of guinea pigs next time they meet. He will need to think about what he is going to say.

In the meantime Princess Kitty is getting read to start work. She is getting her dusters ready. She wants to surprise Growly Bear when he comes to visit next time. She hopes Growly Bear will say "Goodness Princess Kitty. Your home is spic and span. Just the ticket".

Fish, Chips and Champagne

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear are sitting on either side of the fireplace in Princess Kitty's new home. They are eating fish and chips out of the paper and drinking champagne. Just like they planned.

It has been a busy day full of adventures. They packed all Princess Kitty's things into a little van and trailer that she borrowed. Then they got a call to say Princess Kitty to go into her new home.

They looked around The Cardigan. It was clean and empty. Ready for the next people to live in.

Princess Kitty hopes they will be as happy as she has been there. She hopes that they will feel some of the love she and Growly Bear felt there. She hopes living there will help them understand the point of guinea pigs.

On the way to the new house Princess Kitty's mattress bounced off the trailer into the road. Princess Kitty and Growly Bear giggled.

When they got to Princess Kitty's new home they took all her things in. Growly Bear and Princess Kitty lifted sofas. They carried wardrobes. They pushed fridges.

What a tiring day. I think those little creatures will sleep well tonight!

Goodbye To The Cardigan

Tomorrow is the big day.

Tomorrow Princess Kitty leaves The Cardigan forever. She is excited about her new adventure. But she is sad too. The Cardigan has been a special place for her. It has been her first home on her own. It has been the place where her love for Growly Bear has grown. It has seen tears and laughter. It has seen passion and pleasure. And it has been a place to think about the point of guinea pigs.

Growly Bear is at The Cardigan tonight ready to help Princess Kitty move tomorrow. He is feeling a bit sad too. He has grown to love The Cardigan. He has loved coming to visit. He has loved playing music and playing tricks there. And he has enjoyed making special honey with Princess Kitty.

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear cuddle up. They are ready for the next part of their adventure.

Wise Old Bear

Princess Kitty is shattered.

She feels as if she is running on empty. The Cardigan is full of boxes. She is very busy at work trying to get everything done before she has a break. And she is washed out after her cold. Poor Princess Kitty.

Growly Bear understands. He understands that she is tired. He understands that she feels a bit adrift. He understands that she is feeling a bit scared about leaving The Cardigan for her own home.

He knows too that everything will be OK. He knows that he will be there to help Princess Kitty move and look after her. He knows that there will be things to learn about the point of guinea pigs.

But best of all Growly Bear knows they will eat fish and chips on the night Princess Kitty moves.
