Feeling Lucky

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear are still together. What lucky little creatures they are.

Today they have both been to work. Growly Bear drove off early in his little Skoda. He read lots of things. He wrote some emails. He made some phone calls. He looked at his calender with pictures of guinea pigs.

And he went shopping. Shopping for clothes. Clothes for Princess Kitty. Brave little bear.

When he took the presents back to The Cardigan Princess Kitty was surprised. Very surprised indeed. Growly Bear had bought lovely things. Things that Princess Kitty likes. Clever little bear.

Princess Kitty felt very special. No-one has ever spoilt her like Growly Bear does. Lucky little cat.

Kitty In My Pocket

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty have been shopping.

Growly Bear has been spoiling Princess Kitty. Again. He has been buying her little presents.

He bought her a pretty caftan to wear. He bought her some glittery slippers. He bought her a furry jacket. Lucky Princess Kitty.

Princess Kitty likes going shopping with Growly Bear. She likes how interested he is in everything. She likes how he says funny things about what they see. He likes it that he is patient when she wants to look at things.

Going out with Growly Bear always feels like an adventure to Princess Kitty. He has good ideas about places to go and things to do. He is lots of fun to be with. He knows about lots of things and understands things about guinea pigs. Princess Kitty wishes sometimes she was small enough to fit in Growly Bear's pocket so that she could be with him all the time.

Ra Ra Ra

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have had a different sort of day today.

Growly Bear has been teaching Princess Kitty about football recently. And today he took her to see a match.

They woke up early and got themselves ready. Growly Bear packed a picnic. Princess Kitty did her fur. Growly Bear got the car ready. Princess Kitty put some makeup on. Growly Bear planned the route. Princess Kitty polished her sun glasses. Then they set off.

Growly Bear drove Princess Kitty to the football match in his little Skoda. They ate their sandwiches and drank their juice. They were happy because the team they went to see won the match. Hooray!

On the way home they talked about the point of guinea pigs.They chatted about what a nice day they had had. They pondered on all the things they had seen.

When they got home they were very tired. They made just a little sweet honey then fell asleep in each others paws.

Mr Fix-It

Princess Kitty is having a nice time at Growly Bear's cave. She is being very well looked after.

This afternoon Growly Bear showed Princess Kitty something special. Something very special indeed.

Growly Bear showed Princess Kitty his shed.

Growly Bear is very proud of his shed. Very proud indeed. He keeps it very neat and tidy. He has made special shelves to keep his things on. And all his tools are hung up on little nails.

Some people keep their guinea pigs in sheds. Not Growly Bear though. His shed is his special place for fixing things. If something needs fixing Growly Bear takes it off to his shed. He works out which of his tools he needs to fix it. And he fixes it. Clever Growly Bear.

Heaven On Earth

Princess Kitty is on a little holiday. Again. She is Growly Bear's cave. Lucky Princess.

She is lucky because when she goes to Growly Bear's cave he spoils her. She is looking forward to porridge in the morning. She is looking forward to nice food. She is looking forward to playing and singing and talking about the point of guinea pigs. And best of all she is looking forward to some wonderful honey.

Growly Bear has been busy. He has been busy getting ready for Princess Kitty. He has put clean sheets on the bed. He has put pretty lights on. He has warmed up the water so that Princess Kitty can have a nice shower.

I think those two little creatures are in for a nice few days. Don't you?

Making Plans

Today has been a day full of work for Princess Kitty and Growly Bear.

Growly Bear has had some meetings. He has been working out a plan to deal with a difficult person and started to follow it. He has written reports and talked to people on the telephone. He has considered the point of guinea pigs. And he has been working as hard as he can to make bad bears better.

Princess Kitty has had meetings too. This morning's meeting was to meet people who might be able to help her in her work. This afternoon she had a meeting with people she works with. And they disagreed with her.

Princess Kitty found that quite difficult. She gets confused when people don't agree and starts to doubt herself. She finds it hard to think on the spot. She likes time to think things through.

Princess Kitty knows that this is something she needs to get better at. She knows she needs to learn to trust her judgement more. She knows she needs to remember that difficult feelings don't last forever.

She decides to make a plan to get better at it. She will ask Growly Bear to help her. He is good at making plans.

Ssshhh Don't Tell

Growly Bear is having a quiet night in. The bear he lives with has gone out for the evening.

Growly Bear likes having time to himself sometimes. He likes having time to think about things. He likes watching videos on Google Video. He likes making himself something nice to eat. And he likes dreaming about Princess Kitty.

Growly Bear has been thinking about some of Princess Kitty's funny ways tonight. Like the way she becomes inspired by an idea and then learns as much as she can about it. Like the way she keeps trying to work out the point of guinea pigs. He likes the way she loves to cuddle him and snuggle up to him.

And he likes the way that Princess Kitty plays tricks on him. But ssshhh - don't tell Princess Kitty.

He's It

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty met up after work today.

They went for a ride in Growly Bear's little Skoda. Growly Bear treated Princess Kitty to a lovely tea. And then they drove some more in the little Skoda.

They talked all evening. They told stories. Princess Kitty told him about her work. Growly Bear told her tales of life in the Fatty Flatfoot empire. They played humming adverts for the other one to guess. They teased each other about the point of guinea pigs. And they played "It"

Growly Bear thinks he is very good at "It". He has told Princess Kitty that he can never be beaten at "It". But Princess Kitty can be as cunning as a fox. She makes Growly Bear "It" when he is not looking. Then he is "It" for ages until she tells him and he makes her "It" again.

When it was time to go Growly Bear and Princess Kitty kissed. They rubbed noses. They cuddled up. And then just as they were leaving, Princess Kitty made Growly Bear "It". Secretly.

Keep It Clean

Growly Bear has had a busy day. Doing one of the things Growly Bear does best. Fixing things

He has fixed his skateboard. Clever Growy Bear.

Growly Bear got quite grubby fixing his skateboard. When he had finished he had a shower. He washed behind his furry little ears. He washed his little paws. He scrubbed his little face.

Then he rubbed some cream in. Some cream to keep his fur nice and soft and shiny. Like a guinea pig going to a show.

What a smart bear.

Princess Kitty has spent the day with her girl kitten. They went shopping. It is her girl kitten's birthday soon. So they went to buy her some clothes.

Princess Kitty loves to see her girl kitten. She loves to look at how beautiful she is. She loves to see what a clever and talented and kind young cat she has grown into.

A beautiful kitten and a clean bear. What more could Princess Kitty want.

Something For The Weekend

It is the weekend.

Growly Bear likes weekends. He likes them because he does not have to slave in Fatty Flatfoot's empire. He likes them because he gets to do special weekend jobs. Jobs such as mowing the lawn, shopping and cooking.

This weekend Growly Bear is trying to fix his skateboard. His skateboard is not working properly. All the petrol keeps leaking out. Poor Growly Bear.

Princess Kitty likes weekends too. She likes them because she can get up a bit later. She likes them because she can see her family and spend time with them. She does weekend jobs too like tidying The Cardigan.

But the best part about weekends for Growly Bear and Princess Kitty is that they sometimes get to see each other. This weekend though they are concentrating on their weekend jobs. So they have to talk to each other in other ways. Like text and phone and email and MSN.

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty like to stay in touch with each other in these ways. Staying in touch with each other is important. Especially when they are missing each other. It is an important part of the point of guinea pigs.

Staying in touch is how Princess Kitty and Growly Bear comfort themselves when they are apart and missing each other. Poor little creatures.

He's A Secret Lemonade Drinker

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear woke up together today. Growly Bear stayed at The Cardigan for the night.

Usually Growly Bear sleeps well at The Cardigan. But last night he did not sleep so well. He woke up and felt thirsty. He crept out of bed to get a drink. And then he felt hungry. So he had a Cadbury's Cream egg. Then he crept back into bed next to Princess Kitty. As quietly as the quietest guinea pig.

When Growly Bear and Princess Kitty got up they got ready for work. Princess Kitty put Growly Bear's ribbon straight. Growly Bear kissed Princess Kitty goodbye.

When Princess Kitty came home she found something strange. Something mysterious. Someone had eaten her Cadbury's cream egg and had a drink from her fridge.

She wonders who it could have been. She wonders if it was Growly Bear. She wonders if he is a secret lemonade drinker.

Memory Lane

Growly Bear is at the Cardigan tonight. He and Princess Kitty are looking at the computer together.

They have downloaded Google Earth. They think it is very good. Very good indeed. They find Growly Bear's cave. They find The Cardigan. Growly Bear shows Princess Kitty the village where he grew up. He tells her stories about when he was a cub. Lots of stories.

Princess Kitty loves hearing about Growly Bear's memories. She loves how Growly Bear enjoys talking about them. She likes how it tells her more about the bear she loves. She likes to imagine what he was like as a cub. She thinks understanding the cub in the bear is an important part of the point of guinea pigs.

Growly Bear shows Princess Kitty a photograph. A photograph of a steep lane he used to go up and down when he was a cub. Growly Bear told Princess Kitty some of the adventures he had there. How he went down on a sledge in the ice. How he had some fights. How he used to take girl cubs for walks.

Princess Kitty hopes one day Growly Bear will take a certain girl kitty there.

Rabbit Out Of The Hat

When Princess Kitty saw her friend Chuckles yesterday she sang to him and played her guitar. He said she had got much better. He said the next thing to work on is her performance.

Princess Kitty closes her eyes when she is concentrating hard and performing. It helps her feel safer. She know that Chuckles is right though. She knows she needs to look at her audience and let them look at her. And see them looking at her. Princess Kitty feels a bit scared.

Growly Bear thinks Princess Kitty is getting better too. He thinks she should not worry too much about getting her performance right. He thinks she will pull a rabbit out of the hat when she needs to. He wonders if that should be a guinea pig.

Princess Kitty knows there needs to be a rabbit in the hat to start with. She wonders where she is going to get one from.

Everything's Gonna Be Alright

Growly Bear has been thinking about Princess Kitty this evening. He knows that Princess Kitty has gone out running with Chuckles and some of her other friends. He knows that she will have a nice time. And he knows that she will eat properly afterwards.

Growly Bear is glad for Princess Kitty. He likes to think of her being happy. And he likes to know she has eaten properly.

He can't help feeling sad too though. Not because Princess Kitty is happy. That makes him glad. But because it reminds him how far apart they are. It makes him think about how he loves to see Princess Kitty when she if feeling happy. And he loves to make Princess Kitty happy. He understands though that you don't always have to be there to love. Like guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty has been thinking about Growly Bear too. She has been thinking about how he might be feeling. She wants to be kind to him and make sure he feels loved.

I think that bear and that cat are going to be alright. Don't you?

Pocket Rocket

Princess Kitty has been out riding on her bike again. She has a little purple bike. And a little purple hat to match. She also has a very smart pump. It is called a "Pocket Rocket". She thinks that would be a good name for a guinea pig.

Growly Bear asked Princess Kitty what she wears when she goes out riding on her bike. She told him she wore a t-shirt and cycling shorts. Growly Bear asked her how tight the shorts were. Princess Kitty thought it was kind of Growly Bear to worry if her clothes are too tight. She told him they were quite tight but not too tight.

Growly Bear said he would like a photograph of Princess Kitty in her quite tight cycling shorts. So Princess Kitty got her daddy to take a photograph. She sent it to Growly Bear on her little Samsung

Princess Kitty knows what Growly Bear will say when he sees it. He will say "GROWL"!

Pimms Anyone?

Growly Bear says if there's one thing you can't beat in the summer it is Pimms in the garden.

Today has been beautiful. Sunny and very hot. Hard to believe it is only April. Growly Bear has had friends to visit at his cave. He made fish and salad for lunch. And Pimms.

Princess Kitty has had a nice day too. Her friend Chuckles came to see her. He helped her fix her bike. Then they went for a ride. They went to a pub and had a drink of beer. Then they rode home again.

Whilst they were at the pub, Princess Kitty met some people. They were people who live on the street and drink a lot. She talked to them. They told her a bit about their lives. They told her how they keep looking for the point of guinea pigs but probably don't really believe it any more. They showed her some card tricks. They told Princess Kitty how hungry they were. Then they told her how thirsty they were. Princess Kitty gave them some money to buy a drink. They bought a bottle of cider and shared it between them.

Meanwhile Growly Bear shouted "Pimms anyone?"

Refuelling

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear know how to love each other. They know how to make even the smallest things special. They know how to make the best of their time together. Which may be important to the point of guinea pigs.

Growly Bear visited The Cardigan today. He arrived on his little skateboard. He and Princess Kitty went off to the shops to choose some lunch. They bought dressed crab, fresh bread and salad. Delicious!

Then they talked for a little while. And then they made honey.

They only had 3 hours together. But in that time they were able to show their love. They were able to smile and laugh. They were able to play tricks on each other.

Now they are ready to be apart again. They have love in their hearts to keep them going. Until the next time.

The Name's Bear - Growly Bear

Growly Bear is plotting a trick. A trick against Fatty Flatfoot.

He is going to plant a picture where she will find it. A picture of Princess Kitty. A picture of Princess Kitty looking happy and playing her guitar.

Princess Kitty thinks Growly Bear needs to be careful. She thinks he must be careful not to get caught by Fatty Flatfoot. Anyone who eats guinea pig pies is not to be trusted.

Growly Bear will have to plan his moves. He will have to go undercover. Like a spy. He will have to disguise himself. Perhaps he will wear sun glasses and a false moustache.

Growly Bear knows he will have to be super cool. He knows he will have to look casual while playing his trick. Maybe he will put a little message on the picture. "For your eyes only".

Lucky Bear

Growly Bear and Princess Kitty gave themselves a surprise today.

They met up early after work. They met at one of their special places. It is a place by a lake. There were no guinea pigs there. But there were some swans.

Some of the swans took a fancy to Growly Bear. They kept coming over and sitting next to him. They pecked his feet. They wiped their wet bills on him.

One of the swans nibbled his ear. Growly Bear said "Growl".

Then Growly Bear and Princess Kitty decided to go back to The Cardigan. They decided on the spur of the moment. Growly Bear suggested it when Princess Kitty told him she had sore thighs. He started having an awake dream. He thought it would be a good idea to lie down.

So Princess Kitty and Growly Bear went back to The Cardigan. Growly Bear stopped Princess Kitty's thighs from hurting. And Princess Kitty made Growly Bear smile.

That lucky bear!

Just The Ticket

Growly Bear has been using another funny expression. Just the ticket.

He says it when he finds what he is looking for. He says it if Princess Kitty does something he likes. He says it if he suddenly catches a glimpse of the point of guinea pigs.

Princess Kitty would say "That's wicked" or "Rocking". Growly Bear says "Just the ticket".

Princess Kitty has heard another funny saying with ticket in. "He's not quite the ticket". She has never heard Growly Bear say this though.

Princess Kitty wonders where Growly Bear gets his expressions from. She wonders if he knows a secret site on the Internet with all the funny expressions in the world.

She knows what Growly Bear would say if he found such a site. He would say "Just the ticket".

Don't Worry Be Happy

Growly Bear has had a nice day. He has still got a nice feeling inside from seeing Princess Kitty yesterday.

Growly Bear was happy when he talked to Princess Kitty in the morning. He was happy when they sent each other texts. He was happy when he wrote about the point of guinea pigs. And he was happy when he spoke to Princess Kitty again.

When Growly Bear got back to his cave he found he had something. He had an email. An email from Princess Kitty. It was a very serious email. Princess Kitty told him what she thought about her bad behaviour towards him last week. She told him about what she needed from him. And she told him how much she loved him.

Growly Bear was not surprised by the email. He knew that Princess Kitty must have thought hard about the things that she wrote. He knew she might be worried about how he would feel about it. And he knew why he loves her.

The Healing Taste Of Honey

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have made up.

They met up on their skateboards today. They had lunch together which was lovely. There were a few tense moments but even so they loved every moment. They talked about things in the news. They told a few jokes. They discussed the point of guinea pigs.

Then they went back to The Cardigan. Growly Bear had come prepared. He had come prepared with the finest ingredients to make the finest honey. It was a special kind of honey. A kind Princess Kitty had never tasted before. A special healing honey.

Princess Kitty loved it. Every single drop of it. She had never tasted anything so wonderful.

She thought about how difficult things had been for them both over the last few days. She thought about how the hurt they had given each other had been healed in her. She hopes it was the same for Growly Bear too. She hopes he found some peace in their love.

She texted Growly Bear when he got back to his cave. She told him she loved him and hoped he had a nice day.

Growly Bear texted back. Growl!

Always Do Your Best

Growly Bear is a bit happier today. It is Easter. Some of his family are visiting. His cubs are visiting. He has been busy cooking for them.

Growly Bear loves to cook for other people. He loves to make them happy by eating something nice. He always tried to do the best he can when he is cooking.

Princess Kitty has been out on her skateboard today. On her own. Brave Princess Kitty. She went a long way. She went for over 200 miles. Daring little cat.

Princess Kitty wonders if being daring is a point of guinea pigs. Growly Bear thinks it probably has something to do with always doing your best.

Princess Kitty thinks it is important to do your best too. Like when she nearly ran out of petrol today because she had not planned ahead. She had not done her best. Oh dear Princess Kitty.

Princess Kitty decides she will turn over a new leaf. From tororrow she will always try to do her best.

I Can See Clearly Now

Princess Kitty is feeling better today. The sun is out. The sky is blue. She can see clearly.

Growly Bear is not feeling much better. He has a little knot above his left eye. A knot of worry. So he did what Growly Bear does at such times. He kept busy. He mowed the lawns. He had a shower. He went to an art gallery. He went to a pub. He met up with friends. He didn't stop thinking about Princess Kitty though. He didn't stop wondering what this all means when you try to apply it to guinea pigs.

Growly Bear is coming to see Princess Kitty the day after tomorrow. He might be coming to The Cardigan. Princess Kitty wonders what it will be like. She wonders if it will be difficult. She wants to cuddle Growly Bear again but right now she can't imagine what that will be like.

Maybe she can't see as clearly as she thought.

The Morning After The Night Before

Growly Bear has a headache. So has Princess Kitty. Growly Bear has a stiff neck. Princess Kitty feels hot and tearful.

It has not been a good day for either of them. Growly Bear has done what Growly Bear does when he is upset or worried. He has got on with things. He went shopping. He did some cooking. He was pleased to get things done. But he worried about Princess Kitty. And he worried about his life.

Princess Kitty couldn't face the world today. She hid away. She slept. She cried. She just wanted to feel better. She felt horrible inside and out.

Poor Princess Kitty. Poor Growly Bear. What a sorry state of affairs

Ouch!

Princess Kitty and Growly Bear have had a falling out, Ouch!

Perhaps falling out not quite the right way to describe it. But words were spoken. Words that hurt them both.

The tensions have been rising for a while. Growly Bear has been struggling. He knows he loves Princess Kitty. He wants to be with her all the time but to do that he has to change his life completely, He has to hurt other people. He has to 'crash his life' as he calls it. And he is frightened. He is frightened he will be left on his own. He is frightenend that Princess Kitty will change her mind one day and not want him any more.

Princess Kitty has been feeling more and more lonely and frightened. Things are difficult in her world. She can't talk to anyone properly about Growly Bear. They just wouldn't understand. They just warn her that she is going to be hurt. Badly hurt. And sometimes Princess Kitty finds it hard not to wonder if they are right. She finds it hard to hold on to her faith. Her belief in magic. Her belief that she will find out the point of guinea pigs. Her belief that love will conquer all.

They had a hug at the end of it all. But then they had to go their own ways. Growly Bear back to his cave. Princess Kitty back to The Cardigan. They both felt calm but shocked and sad.

Ouch!

Wakey Wakey

Growly Bear had a restless night. He stayed up quite late then curled up to sleep. After a little while he woke up. He got himself a little drink and then tried to go to sleep.

But he couldn't. He thought about what he was thinking about. He wasn't really thinking about anything. He thought about what he was feeling. He was feeling OK. He wondered if he had been dreaming about the point of guinea pigs. He turned over again.

Then Growly Bear went off to sleep at last. The next thing he heard was the sound of angels. He woke up slowly. It was the alarm on his little Nokia.

Princess Kitty was woken up by her alarm too. The alarm on Princess Kitty's little Samsung is funky. Very funky indeed. It is so funky it makes her wake up. And get up. And get ready. Ready for her day.

When Growly Bear comes to stay he sets his little Nokia alarm. And Princess Kitty sets her little Samsung alarm. Growly Bear does not like Princess Kitty's alarm and Princess Kitty does not like Growly Bear's alarm.

Growly Bear says one morning he is going to put Princess Kitty's down the toilet. Bad Growly Bear. Princess Kitty says she doesn't think that will be happening.

I think she is right.

Tomorrow Is Another Day

Princess Kitty is a bit poorly. Not very poorly. Just a bit. Poor Princess Kitty.

Princess Kitty has sore ears. Her ears are itchy and tender. Her face is a bit sore too. Perhaps she has a little bug. Poor Princess Kitty.

Growly Bear is not feeling poorly. But he is feeling a bit tired. And he is worried about Princess Kitty. He is sad to think of her feeling poorly with no one to cuddle her. He is sad to think of her feeling lonely. He is sad to think she has no one to talk to about guinea pigs.

Growly Bear tried to cheer Princess Kitty up by talking to her on MSN. He told her that he loves her. He tried to tell her some jokes. But Princess Kitty carried on feeling poorly.

Never mind said Growly Bear. Tomorrow is another day.

Once And For All Time

Princess Kitty is in control. She has had a good day at work today. She had a little list of things she needed to do. And she did them all. She ticked them all off. And some extra ones.

Growly Bear is not in control. Or at least he doesn't feel as if he is. His life is spinning around and perfectly still all at the same time.

It feels like that feeling before a thunderstorm. When the electricity is building. When everything in the world is familiar yet not right. When you feel as if something is about to happen yet you cannot make it start. When you feel the pressure of a prison yet the vulnerability of open space.

Guinea pigs are scared of thunderstorms. They make them squeak. Growly Bear doesn't like thunderstorms either. It makes him growl. Not on the outside but on the inside. So no-one can hear him. Keeping the growl in makes him hurt more.

Princess Kitty does not like to think of Growly Bear hurting. She would like to help make him better. She would like to get that growl out of him. Once and for all time.

Grubby Paws

Growly Bear has been out on his skateboard today. He has been out doing tricks and stunts.

First Growly Bear had to fix his skateboard because it has not been working properly. Growly Bear likes fixing things. He likes to get his paws dirty. He likes to smell of engine oil. He thinks it makes him seem more bear-like. Growl!

Princess Kitty does not like fixing things. She does not like it at all. She especially does not like getting her paws dirty. She thinks this is probably because she is made for better things. But she does like to watch Growly Bear fix things. She thinks he is very clever.

Princess Kitty wonders if you have to get your paws dirty to understand the point of guinea pigs. She hopes not.

Growly Bear did not show Princess Kitty any of his tricks and stunts today. But he did tell her about some of them. Princess Kitty told him to be careful. Growly Bear showed her his grubby paws, puffed out his chest and said "Growl"
